The only time this really impacted the game for me was playing the medium and the veteran (the medium's Q requires good facing to utilize, and the veteran's dash move is a backstep, which feels really awkward in some situations). the keyboard controls are okay, but a little painful to use fully, since you'll find yourself frequently holding to arrow keys to point the right way. Finding a grenade launcher is super cool, and the tension skyrockets, since you really want to get it back to the safety of the mansion to try out. The witch will die to a single bleed application if you don't get her some gear (easiest defense against debuffs is health regen). I wouldn't recommend trying any character with no equipment. there's some great tension in the levels, as long as you have basic gear. the early game is particularly rough, but overall I'm starting to see the strengths and weaknesses of each class. Do you want your detective to handle sanity costs with ease? Maybe you want him to be tanky juggernaut? What about turning your shotgun into an autoshotgun? There's an apparel for that ) each armor and weapon feels legitimately unique, and their upgraded versions even more so. Overall, its a tough game, but I'm enjoying it. But I wanted to give feedback earlier rather than later I'm not going to post a review until I've unlocked the alienist, and seen a bit more of the map unlocked.
